Playlist Thursday

24 May

Friend, fellow FitFluential Ambassador, and all around awesome runner/blogger guy, Pavement Runner, does a series on his blog called “Playlist Thursday". I participated last week by adding my ideas to the comments on his blog, but he told me I should really participate so here goes!

Yes, I stole his logo – I don’t think he minds Winking smile

Here’s how it works (From Mr. Pavement’s post):

Something Old: These will be songs that are at least 5 years old. I know that isn’t too long to be considered old, but music turnover happens quickly.
Something Current: These will be songs that have been released within the past year. I know, but you have to give me some leeway here.
Something to Consider: These will be songs that are not typically heard on the radio and may be by artists you’ve never heard of or considered running to. This is the wild card category, can be old or current.

I’ve been on a wicked techno/hip-hop/anything extremely upbeat kick lately so I’m using that as a basis for my post:

Something Old:

Artist: Rusted Root

Title: Send Me on My Way

Try staying still when this song is on. I dare ya

Fave quote: “And we will run, we will, we will crawl, we will”

Something Current:

Artist: Flo Rida

Title: Good Feeling

The title really says it all, doesn’t it? Running makes you feel good!

Fave Quote: “Got adrenaline, never giving in, Giving up’s not an option, gotta get it in”

Something to Consider:

Artist: Alter Bridge (I am out to rid the world of people who haven’t heard of Alter Bridge, one person at a time. This band is amazing, by far one of my favorites).

Title: I Know It Hurts

Not only is this song rockin’, but you really think if you’re running a hard race/run that he’s talking to you!

Fave quote: “We all fall sometimes you’re not the first, But I know it hurts,
Yeah I know it hurts”

What’s on your playlist? Do you like the Alter Bridge song? Do I have to force more upon you to turn you into a fan? Winking smile

Rusted Root makes me think of college. Love it! I just had Flo Rida on during my speed work this morning on the treadmill. Alter Bridge, you lost me! 🙂

hahaha…. you pulled out Rusted Root. That is awesome!

That Flo Rida is one of three of his songs on my playlist in rotation. His stuff works!

I’m digging Alter Bridge. They remind me (not in sound) of Hoobastank and how their songs just get me going mid run. Kudos on the recomendations.

Thanks for joining us! I love reading everyone’s posts and ideas – and every week I’ve been adding a new song to my list. This week: Alter Bridge! Sounds like an awesome mid-run song for sure 😉

Such a good idea for a post. 🙂 I haven’t heard of ANY of those songs, but I love them. I’m going to put them on my list of songs to download.
